A bit about Amn B

I am a third year undergraduate studying Politics, Philosophy and Law, with A-Level in English Literature, History, and Religious Studies. I faced a lot of barriers in my school education that were out of my control, including staff shortages and poor teaching, and so I empathise with the extremely difficult times students are going through while studying in the pandemic. I have over 120 hours of tutoring experience, working with a variety of different exam boards. My main philosophy is that our tutoring sessions are 100% for the benefit of the student - that means that we adapt our approach to their learning style, be that using worksheets, fun activities, general discussions, or exam practice. I will identify strengths and points to work on and guide students to where I think we should focus, always endeavouring to combine these areas with their areas of interest. For instance, if a student loves poetry but struggles with vocabulary, we’ll work on identifying new words in poems. I often use my own essays and notes to show students what real answers look like and what feedback I received from my teachers on those pieces. I’m currently studying and in my free time I love playing and writing music, cooking and baking, and journaling. I’m a Marvel movie fan, love to read, and have two black belt in jujitsu - I also taught jujitsu to children and adults of widely different backgrounds and abilities for two years. I teach students from Year 7 - 12. English Language and Literature: I have the most experience teaching AQA but am comfortable teaching all exam boards. I have previously taught Literature texts which I was not familiar with as I am happy to take time in advance to read around the text and familiarise myself with the concepts. Religious Studies: I have experience teaching OCR and AQA. As I study Philosophy at an undergraduate level I am able to teach most exam boards. Law: I have taught AQA Law and I am a Law student, so can teach any exam board.
