A bit about Elen B

I am a biochemistry graduate. Alongside my academic studies I'm a keen climber, mountaineer and skier. I love to travel and have been all over the world climbing and exploring different mountainous areas. I have spent the last few months living and working in Chamonix and plan to do a masters next year. I studied maths, biology, chemistry and geography at GCSE level and have a first class degree in biochemistry from the University of Bristol. Biochemistry is the study of living things and how they work. My degree has given me an in-depth understanding of the science behind life's processes and it’s very interesting to research and understand the complex way in which nature works. I have tutored maths and sciences online for 4 years, helping lots of students to complete their GCSEs. I worked with many students during the covid pandemic when access to school material was limited and worked through the subject specification to ensure all areas were covered for their upcoming exams. My sessions will be very dependent on the individual I am tutoring. I am happy to alter the structure of the lessons to tailor them to the needs of the student. The lessons will largely be based around what the student would like to get out of the sessions. I am able to prepare in advance of the session, including preparing an assortment of questions on a particular topic or going through a topic that the student is having trouble with. I am also able to allow the student to bring their questions to the sessions and work through them, or any homework or exam papers they are having trouble with.
