A bit about Paul K

I am an English Teacher from London with four years experience of teaching students online & in a class room. My lessons are fun & interesting and I use materials that are both engaging & helpful. I love helping students improve their English and I focus on the main skills of speaking, listening, writing & listening. I can guarantee that if you choose to work with me your English will improve very quickly! I have four years experience of teaching adults & children of all ages. I teach beginners and advanced students. I work with interesting and fun materials and I personalise my lessons depending on the requirements and personality of my students. I quickly understand how to help my students improve and I encourage students to speak as much as possible. I always like to cover all of the core skills in each lesson. I like to start with a warm up game which is fun & interesting. I encourage students to speak so I usually introduce a task that encourages the student to talk by answering questions or explaining something about themselves and their daily lives. I also have materials that include videos that student need to listen to and then provide answers to questions from the task. Finally I introduce a writing task which requires students to explain a situation or a summary of a video or story. My focus on the four skills helps students to improve in all areas and creates great confidence in their own ability. I worked as a Hotel Manager for many years but my passion to teach became reality in 2018. I began teaching by tutoring students on a one to one basis. I then gained a TEFL qualification and joined an English Academy in Spain for a year, teaching teenagers. I then became a Teaching Consultant for two companies in Asia & I currently teach a number of students online. I simply love seeing my students improve. I also have great fun in my classes & this is really important to me. I want my student to enjoy classes & when I see them learning while having fun this is what I love the most! My style is to encourage students to speak as much as possible. My lessons are very happy & energetic and I believe in being very positive and making sure that students are learning, progressing and enjoying. My experience includes teaching students of all different ages and levels & I have helped with many challenges including beginners and also advanced students who have lots of questions! I genuinely care about my students progression. Quite simply I love helping people. Seeing how my experience helps students to improve their English is my favourite thing. Learning by enjoying is my philosophy. I think it is important to work hard while being positive and finding the right materials to have fun & enjoy learning English My students love my lively materials and my positive approach to lessons. They love my encouragement and my patience for students who are learning a new language My greatest success is teaching beginners who had no knowledge of English and seeing how quickly I was able to increase their knowledge and help them to achieve a level where they were able to hold a full conversation in English. I am a fully qualified TEFL English Teacher & I hold a degree in Hospitality which was my first career. I took my TEFL course of 120 hours in Barcelona, Spain. I loved the TEFL course & very quickly realised that I had made the right choice for my new career. I gained exceptional grades & was told that my tutor felt I had a natural talent for teaching. I had always wanted to teach and gained the inspiration during my coaching sessions in my hospitality career. In my previous role as a Hotel Manager I was responsible for training new staff & I realised that teaching, coaching and mentoring was something that came naturally to me. At that point I decided that I would like to embrace my passion to become a teacher. My interests are mainly sport (I like football, swimming, golf & hurling). I also love travelling & reading books. I have traveled extensively around Europe & I believe in trying local cultures and trying to communicate to local people. I love reading and this has helped me to expand my knowledge of English & Spanish. I have taught and currently teach all ages of children from 3 to 16 years old and I also teach adults of different levels. I am comfortable with any level & any age.
