A bit about Zainab M

Teaching for me is a passion and education a right for all; I have over 25 years of teaching experience which started as a student doing some tuition to eventually becoming a teacher and working in schools and colleges. My aim is to get the most out of my students so they can improve their levels as every little step is a step in the overall future that education offers every individual. I specialise in teaching English language and literature from KS2 to KS5. I have experience in teaching and marking AQA, Edexcel, Wjec, Eduqas and Cambridge curricula. I have also taught the International Baccalaureate and Edexcel and Cambridge IGCSE programmes. I also teach History to GCSE and have taught all syllabi for key UK examinations. I am a fluent French speaker and can teach French, speaking, reading, and writing. I have a lot of patience and SEN experience as well as a qualification in supporting and identifying dyslexia. I see my students as individuals irrespective of their backgrounds or abilities and without judgement. As a curriculum developer and lead, I have the skills that allow me to develop a learning plan for the individual to match their learning styles and ability. My lessons always start with making sure my student has the objectives clearly understood as they are partners in the deal and therefore have the right to own their learning. Depending on the subject, I might begin with a source, a piece of text or context and develop the lesson with all the relevant tasks for a student to complete. I first started tutoring as a student and even though I have done many jobs in education, my passion has always remained in teaching. I now have over 30 years of tutoring experience. I am still in touch with some of my former tutees who went on to read subjects such as Medicine, PPE, History, Law and Architecture to name a few subjects.
