A bit about Suzanne T

I have been a primary school teacher since 1996. KS1 & KS2 SATs revision and exam preparation have been a main area of focus during my years spent private tutoring. In the classroom, I have taught from Reception to Y6, but spent the majority of my years in Y2 and Y3, moving up with classes to ensure smooth transition from KS1 to KS2. My degree and specialism is in English, but my favourite subject to teach is maths. I held the post of Numeracy co-ordinator for many years at my previous school, which involved working closely with the LEA's numeracy consultant. I also created and compiled a whole school approach to the teaching of the four rules of number, building in progression and continuity. I created a parents' and teachers' booklet to explain how to teach these written methods and this was distributed to many schools across the LEA by the numeracy consultant. Over the last 4 years, I have been teaching English as a foreign language, online, and really enjoyed teaching 1:1 and getting to know my students and their families. *BA(hons) QTS English Language & Literature, with English specialism in Foundation stage & Key Stage 1 Primary school teacher from 1996 onwards. I like to read and watch the news - perhaps a little too much! I like to know what is going on in the world. I also enjoy peaceful walks, bowling and spending time with my parents, my two children (aged 12 and 10), my rescue dog, and "cake n' coffee catch ups" with my friends. (Especially the cake part!). The "AHA!" moment when something finally clicks, and there's no stopping them... Seeing a student’s confidence and understanding grow. Feeding the passion for life long learning.
