A bit about Leila F

I specialise in the AQA AS level specification. My areas of expertise are research methods, memory, approaches, attachment, and psychopathology. For A2 students, I can offer in-depth recaps of the first-year content for the Paper 1 exam, as I understand how challenging it can be to revise prior content whilst learning new topics. I am able to teach my students how to make links between topics and effectively apply them to exam questions, which I can provide to my students. I am also able to proactively guide students when writing their longer essay answers. I am currently teaching AQA Psychology within an FE college, where I am also completed my CertEd training (achieving 1st class within the course). Before becoming a Psychology teacher, I studied Psychology at degree level (achieving a high 2:1) where I was a mentor and ambassador for other students. This responsibility gave me the chance to coach other students with their examination preparation and essay writing skills. This experience ultimately gave me the inspiration to follow my passion for teaching and in a subject I love. I am passionate about academia and researching the field. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and researching different educational topics, such as cognitive load theory. This inspired me to start a master’s degree in education. I am currently teaching AS Level Psychology at an FE college (Post-16). This is with the AQA exam board. The A2 (second year) topics I can cover are issues and debates, gender, and forensics. I have always loved learning and I am very lucky to have had some amazing teachers who guided and inspired me to learn whilst exploring new subjects. Ultimately I wanted to give back and inspire my own students to learn and engage with a subject I enjoy so much. The whole process of teaching - from creatively planning lessons to delivering them in the classroom, inspires me to continue my professional development and better my teaching practice, for the benefit of all my learners.
