A bit about Leanne B

Depth of knowledge is the key! Science is a subject that requires an inquisitive mind and a good foundation. I believe in instilling these qualities in my students to give them the ability to apply the understanding they have gained to a range of contexts. I encourage young people to develop their skills of enquiry, to seek evidence and justification for their ideas which, in turn, will allow them to form sound and complete conclusions. I consider myself to be keen amateur environmentalist. I have turned my front garden into a mini allotment to grow vegetables for my family. I have recently added my own compost bin to reduce our food waste. I am actively seeking to make my family single use plastic free and and trying to teach my children how to live in a sustainable and ethical way. I enjoy crocheting and reading fantasy novels. I have been teaching science for 18 years. I have taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level and Biology and Chemistry up to A-level over a range of exam boards. During my career, I have been a curriculum leader in charge of BTEC, environmental science, and a key stage 3 coordinator. I have worked in a range of school types as well as teaching for a year in Spain.
