A bit about Liz R

I tutor A-Level Maths, GCSE Maths, Key Stage 3, and Adults. I tutor GCSE Mathematics at both the Higher and Foundation levels for all boards, and I specialize in the Pearson Edexcel specifications for A-Level Mathematics. I am a Maths Examiner, so I have a thorough knowledge of the best way to get good marks in an exam setting. I tutor Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths), where the exam board is AQA. The Level 3 Mathematical Studies exam requires a sound knowledge of spreadsheet formulae and I tutor these skills as well as the mathematical content. I believe that given the right conditions everyone can succeed in mathematics to a level that will be appropriate for them in any chosen career path and I enjoy tutoring to help them do this. I have more than thirty years of experience teaching both young people and adults. Their courses range from Entry Level Mathematics qualifications through to GCSE Mathematics, A-Level Mathematics, and A-Level Further Mathematics. I also have experience in developing and teaching Level 3 Mathematical Studies, also known as Core Maths. This experience includes online teaching and tutoring. I really enjoy helping students succeed who have SEND requirements, such as those with dyspraxia, dyslexia, and autism. I also have experience teaching nervous adults, who have realized that they need to improve their mathematics to further their careers. I love mathematics because it influences our lives in so many ways and uses for it can be found in just about every profession. It is the universal language. For example, whether you are a photographer thinking about framing your photographs; working in theatre dealing with stage and lighting setups; a scientist trying to find the latest cure for illness or understand global warming; a nurse caring for others; or someone who enjoys problem-solving, maths will be a necessary and a key part of it. Therefore, when teaching mathematics, I have a large variety of settings to draw on which help make it relevant to the individual students I work with.
