Hi! I'm a third-year medical student at university, currently on placement at Musgrove Park Hospital. I play rugby for the medics team at Exeter and I'm training for a 209-mile ultramarathon in Iceland. I enjoy surfing, sailing, and water-skiing by the sea. I have experience teaching through our Widening Access to Medicine program, recognizing the importance of adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles. With a focus on the sciences, I'm pursuing a degree in medicine, heavily immersed in biology and chemistry, akin to A-level and GCSE curricula. Having navigated 13+, GCSEs, and A-levels myself, I comprehend the exam system intricately. Armed with notes from my three 9s in GCSE sciences and three A*s at A-level, I'm equipped to aid students effectively. I first start with an introduction as it fosters rapport, clarifies goals, and establishes expectations, crucial for effective communication and productive learning. In my classes, I make biology, chemistry, and physics come alive with practical examples. We'll chat, solve problems, and explore topics together. However, my medical studies temporarily paused this and now, with more availability, I'm eager to resume tutoring. From my previous experience each student is unique and using one teaching style for every student does not work effectively. I do aim to always to make the sessions fun. This is believe is important because as soon as you get bored or distracted it makes it very boring to do. With experience tutoring AQA A-levels and Edexcel GCSEs, I understand the similarities between the materials. This allows me to provide comprehensive guidance tailored to different exam board specifications, ensuring effective learning and exam preparation for students at various levels.
