A bit about Katie S

My focus is on a deeper understanding and I think that students really appreciate this. Memorable methods and quick fixes are great in the short term but learners really start to build confidence when they gain a deeper understanding that will last a lifetime. Putting the effort in to ensuring this is priority helps me to build positive relationships with my students. 2011 BA (Hons) Primary Education (QTS) from the University of the West of England in Bristol. 10 years of teaching both in the UK and internationally. 2 years experience as a senior leader in an outstanding school. Experience as subject lead for maths, English and Computing respectively. Taught both SATs year groups: year 2 and 6. Current year 6 teacher with the latest knowledge of SATs and 11+ exams. Having completed a three year degree in Primary Education, I'm qualified and experienced in teaching a range of subjects including English, Maths, Science and the wider curriculum. Since I am currently a year 6 teacher, my SATs knowledge is exceptional and I am well versed in preparing children for the end of primary school exams. Hiking, food, travel and philosophy. I love watching TED talks too! You may even spot me in one... 8 years ago when I was working at an international school in Dubai. I would attend clients homes on a weekly basis. I tutored from year 1 to year 8 during this time. Since then, I've adapted my practice to include online tutoring.
