A bit about Graeme

My name is Graeme and I have been teaching students both in and outside of the classroom for over 25 years. I have a first-class honours degree in Science with Education and Qualified Teacher Status which I received from Sheffield Hallam University. I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years of classroom teaching experience in the delivery of physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy and maths at GCSE level and all three sciences and maths at KS3. I am a former Head of Physics, Head of Applied Science, Careers Coordinator, Assistant Head of Year, Teacher Training Mentor and in addition to the teaching of mainstream students, I also have vast experience educating learners with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. My main area of scientific interest is physics, though I am fascinated by science in general and have taught physics, chemistry and biology to A-level in the past. The bulk of my recent teaching is the delivery of all three sciences to GCSE (combined and separate), plus GSCE Astronomy and I have taught GCSE Maths at KS3 and GCSE level. I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years of classroom teaching experience. Before leaving full time teaching, I had a truly outstanding track record of results with my students/classes. Indeed, at KS3 and GCSE the examination results of my own classes were consistently second to none in the schools I worked in. My success was mainly due to building excellent working relationships with my students, making lessons as fun, enjoyable and relevant as possible, installing confidence and a ‘can do’ attitude, but most importantly motivating my students to succeed. I have a 1st class honours degree in Science with Education and Qualified Teacher Status. I also have extensive experience of educating learners with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. However, in the interest of honesty, my passion is science teaching. I am happy to combine maths with science tuition if that suits the needs of the student.
