A bit about Sara M

I am a Newly Qualified Primary Teacher of 2 years, with a 1st class BA honours in Education Studies. I have experience in both KS1 and KS2. I have been tutoring primary children in their English as part of the National Tutoring Programme for around a year now. I cover all aspects of English/literacy including: spelling, punctuation, phonics and word classes. I also cover types of writing (fiction, non-fiction, suspense, reports etc). I look forward to working with you :) I started tutoring in March 2021 whilst also working on supply in primary schools. I really enjoy tutoring, as when you’re working in smaller groups you can really get to know each child and meet their needs a lot better. This is why I have decided to pursue tutoring over being a teacher for the time being. Currently I tutor a group of year 4 students on their spelling. The children love our sessions because I like to incorporate games to make the learning more fun. This helps them to stay focused and they can retain the learning a lot better. I also like to set them tasks during our sessions which means they can take the lead and responsibility for their own learning. I have 8 GCSE's including a B in English Language. I have also achieved a 1st class BA Honours in Education Studies in 2019 which I studied for 4 years at Manchester Metropolitan University. I then went straight on to do my PGCE where I achieved a merit in July 2020.
