A bit about Mohammad A

I am a Mathematics teacher and a freelance theatre artist. I combine these two passions to make my classes very interactive, engaging and hence full of learning. I love to cook, travel and read. I'm very interested in exploring human behavior and relationships. I love all animals and therefore I am on my journey to going vegan. I priorities my students' learning and mental well-being above all else. If a student is bored and/or lost in my class, I consider it a failure on my part. It is my job to keep students hooked throughout the lesson while also making sure that they are learning. I use various online platforms when teaching either O or A Level Math to help students visualize certain concepts. Therefore, I include games and activities as part of my lessons, always relating topics to the real world to give my students a holistic learning experience. Additionally, I keep taking student's feedback to constantly reflect on my teaching, tailoring lesson to students' individual needs. My (late) mother was a teacher so I was born into teaching. I remember tutoring my younger cousins and classmates back when I was in school taking GCEs. My peers and students say that I was a born teacher, mainly owing to my ability to connect with the students meaningfully. I was bullied a lot in school and none of my teachers ever helped me, instead, some of them mocked me too for being different. I want to be the teacher I never had- kind, compassionate and empathic. I did my GCE O and A Level myself back in 2010 and 2012 respectively. After getting straight As, I realized I had a knack for teaching so I started tutoring students when I started university. From 2012 to 2022, I have taught: GCE O Level GCE A Level IB MYP Apart from that, I have also tutored students from grade 6 till grade 8. In 2019, I started working as IB MYP Mathematics teacher at Lahore Grammar School International in Pakistan. I was entrusted with the responsibility of MYP4 (grade 9) mostly but after seeing my dedication to my job and my rapport with the students, I was made to teach the graduating batch (MYP5, grade 10) in the year after. The school got the best result for Mathematics - 15 students got 7s, 2 students got 6s and 2 students got 5s. The school had the highest average for Mathematics in the entire country. Next academic term, I was promoted to the head of the Math department at the school.
