A bit about Aimman S

I am a university student studying civil engineering and have been privately tutoring for a couple of years. I specialise in gcse maths, science and English but I am able to do KS3, primary school and other subjects too. I am ready to give your child all my support to achieve the best results possible. I specialise in GCSE maths, science and English. I personally received A*(9) in all my gcse subjects and have been able to tutor other students to there target grades. Sciences include biology, chemistry and physics. I also tutor English literature and language. Usually I ask the parent or the child for the syllabus they are currently studying and use resources directly from the exam boards to plan out my sessions. Each session is unique to the child. I will first give them a practise question so I know where I need to start, which will be followed by teaching the process and then letting them try. I began tutoring when I was 17. I used to go to my secondary school to help the GCSEs students when I was in college and this was a request my head teacher made so I could help out the students to learn the tips and tricks of GCSEs. I then did private tutoring where friends and family would send there child to me or we would organise it online to teach them. I have been doing this for 4 years now. The reason why I love maths so much is because numbers make up every day to day life. Understanding where they all come from us a passion of mine. With science I love that science makes up the world whether it’s the biology of a human body or how aeroplanes can fly. It truly amazes me. My teaching style is I like to demonstrate. Leading by examples. By showing the student an easy and effective way to get to the solution is one of the best ways for a student to learn. By showing steps to success it allows the child to know exactly where everything comes from to allow them to answer the question. My favourite thing about being a tutor is seeing students flourish. Students usually come to me with not much of an open mindset and eventually with some work and help they reach there targets and the happiness I feel for them is indescribable. That I always consider the way a child learns. Even though I usually do my lessons a certain way if I see it’s not working for a student I will change it to ensure that they are engaged and learning. I’ve always helped every student get to there target grades. Usually we have 2 to 3 months to prepare for exams and tests but we always get to the target grades. My teaching philosophy is that I acknowledge that all students are different whether it is socially, emotionally or academically. This means I will always change my style to suit the students needs. Whether they need more visuals in there learning or letting the students explain there thought process. I have a DBS. I also have my GCSES and A levels results. I’m currently a student at university. I will be going into my final year in September. My family is full of teachers and even though I didn’t want to have a teaching degree I wanted to make a difference to students. I have volunteered in schools multiple times to help children with there work. I have volunteered in primary, secondary and in colleges. I love reading. Books are my passion. I also love painting and sketching. I also have taken up scrapbooking the last few months and enjoy that very much. I have taught many exam boards including Aqa, ocr and Ed excel. Many of my students have been in year 9, 10 and 11 but I have also taught students from year 1 and above.
