A bit about Kirsty H

I am Head of Faculty English and have been teaching for 9 years across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. I am very passionate about my subject and am goal-orientated. My style of teaching is to ensure that students are consistently engaged in interesting lessons that are planned to achieve each of the students' targets! I specialise in teaching general comprehension, creative writing, transactional writing, GCSE exam preparation, English Literature, A Level Literature and grammatical accuracy. My lessons are tailored to suit the goals of the tutee. All lessons are planned in advanced and are as engaging as possible. I track my lessons on an individual basis to ensure that tutees are receiving all that they need. 4 years ago when teaching in Spain. I tutored English First Language, English Second Language and Literature. I love the creativity that teaching English brings and I enjoy seeing students progress in the subject I love. I am passionate about reading and enhancing my knowledge in both Language and Literature. My style is to make teaching as fun and engaging as possible whilst ensuring that I am covering all that my tutee needs. I enjoy being a tutor as usually a tutee will have a clear goal about their learning. I love to see tutees progress and it is easy to see this happen on an individual level. My philosophy is that effort is key. I will always put in maximum effort to see maximum progress in tutees. Students love that I make my teaching relevant to them and that I try to make everything as engaging as possible. My greatest success with teaching is instilling a love for my subject. I also really enjoy seeing people happy with their results. I have a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature. My own English teacher was very engaging and inspiring and encouraged me to 'use my pen well.' I help out at an animal shelter and I enjoy running for exercise. I teach mostly Cambridge iGCSE and A Level but have also taught and examined Edexcel, AQA and Welsh Board.
