A bit about Ffion W

Qualified High School Science Teacher with QTS A Level and GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry and GCSE Physics. AQA, WJEC, Edexcel, OCR and IGCSE exam boards. Graduated from Aberystwyth University with a BSc degree in Zoology before moving onto the University of Chester to complete my PGCE as a qualified Secondary School Science teacher with a specialism in Biology. I then continued at the University of Chester to gain my Masters qualification in Educational Leadership. Science gives us a deeper understanding of processes we take for granted. There are so many different concepts including the earth, plants, animals, chemicals, forces. Its a brilliant feeling when I teach a concept in science and my students make links with the outside world and proceed to make testable explanations and predictions. When I'm not teaching you will find me walking my Maltese dog - Tallulah, or reading a good book! I love to sit outside in the hot weather with my family having a bbq and looking to the mountains my house over looks. I'm also a very keen horse rider! I always start my lesson with a quick chat to make sure you are OK and a little catch up. We will then start with a little activity either based on last lesson to recall what we went over, or something based on what we will be going over in the current lesson. I plan my lessons to be exam based - after all, high exam grades are what we want! Everything I teach has a purpose and will be specifically designed to be applied to exam questions. I will then end the lesson by doing another activity to round up your new found knowledge and find out what you would like to study next.
