A bit about Siana

I am a graduate with a first-class degree in Pharmacology and Physiology, with a capacity to help students in a variety of bioscience subjects. I have tutored A-level and GCSE biology and chemistry for over 4 years, and I have a beautiful 6-year-old sister meaning that I am also very comfortable teaching younger children in maths and science. Through many years of studying, I have tweaked and perfected my exam technique, developing revision mechanisms that I enjoy passing on to my students. During my lessons I focus on a combination of taught concepts and applied exam questions. I like to keep my students on top of topics using Quizlet study sets and weekly tests on definitions and key concepts. I specialise in tutoring GCSE and A-level Biology and Chemistry. Online powerpoint lessons combined with exam question practice and quizlet tests. September 2017 I use a variety of teaching styles. I like to keep students engaged by asking them questions throughout the lesson, as well as teaching the syllabus alongside relevant exam questions. I love the satisfaction I get when my students understand complex concepts. I believe teaching should be fun and lighthearted, but with a healthy level of difficulty. Practice makes perfect, so I like to use apps like Quizlet where students can practice definitions and concepts on the go. It is engaging and interesting. Most recent GCSE chemistry student has gone from a predicted C grade to an A in under 2 months, and my 11+ maths student similarly achieved the highest grade in her recent mock exam (attaining over 85%). 1st Class honours in Pharmacology and Physiology.
