A bit about Emily P

Engagement is an important part of learning, so I make sure that you are interested and enjoying the lessons by using a mixture of fun and challenging activities. I'm very friendly, so I enjoy building rapport and trusting relationships with pupils - it is vital that you are happy and comfortable with asking for help where needed! Please forgive me if I crack a terrible joke from time to time... Finally, I'll be sure to check your understanding and help you develop your areas of interest. You may even end up loving Physics! My first degree was in Marine Biology and Oceanography. I then went on to specialise in Physics before earning a teaching degree. After 6 years of teaching in mainstream schools, I am now completing my Masters degree in Space and Technology, which I am enjoying very much! At the moment I'm working with the ESA on the 2029 Ariel mission. While space and the ocean are my main interests, I'm also an enthusiastic environmentalist. I am very familiar with Pearson Edexcel iGCSE and iAL, as well as AQA and OCR exam boards. When I'm not teaching, you can find me with my nose in a sci-fi book, enjoying music, playing a video game or hiking with my little dog, Charlie. First, we'll have a quick chat as I like to know how you are feeling and what your day has been like. Then, we'll get warmed up with a quick but engaging activity (this might test your memory from our last lesson!) Next we will look at some theory, practice our new-found knowledge with exam questions, and finally wrap things up with a quiz or cooldown activity. I'll make sure to ask if you feel you've understood the lesson material, and what you'd like to study next time.
