A bit about Natalie P

I've got a BA (Hons) Upper Second Class Degree in English Literature and Art History and a PGCE (Sec) both from Goldsmiths College. As well as this, I've got a MA with Distinction in Art History from the Open University. I also wrote the first chapter of a PhD with Bristol University before putting it on hold. As well as teaching English literature, I teach English as a second language and hold a level 3 TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification and a level 5 TEFL qualification, specialising in coaching for the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam. I started my career by teaching Art and Design and supply English in secondary schools in London and Somerset. I then went to work behind the scenes as an Education Adviser where I trained head teachers, governors and academy trust boards. I was also a Vice Chair of an Academy Trust Board at a secondary school in and a Vice Chair of a local governing body for a Primary school. A couple of years ago I returned to teaching and became an online tutor, working with KS3 and GCSE students of English Literature and Language. I also work with students of all ages from overseas to help them improve their English. There are two things I love most about teaching my subject. One is to get the chance to talk about one of the things I love the most in the world: literature - whether that be poetry or prose, and the other thing is seeing others become inspired. I want my students to progress and pass their exams, but more than that, I want them to become inspired by this subject as that is what will stay with them forever.
