A bit about Jackie

I love literature, I have been involved in Performing Arts for years and have a background in performance, technical theatre and English. I am passionate about English and Drama, and helping others gain a passion for learning. Drama, English, Music theory. I love mixing things up, working on puzzles, cracking vocabulary issues and delving into literature both practically and theoretically. Annotating is key to learning and remembering! I find it is always worth looking into the background of why we study something, in order to develop our best personal visions. Teaching 'An Inspector Calls' as well as KS3 texts and Shakespeare's work - I love seeing that 'spark' in a students eyes when they 'get it!' There really is no better feeling. I like to talk...but equally, I love to listen to students ideas, give challenges and puzzles, give visual aids and background knowledge and delving into answer 'big questions' in learning. The key to learning successfully, is to enjoy what we learn. The way to do this is through a passionate teacher with great knowledge. Students can shine by having someone believe in their abilities. I am a trained examiner and have worked with a wide range of boards (BTEC, Edexcel, AQA) My students currently have a 100% pass rate 5-9 / A-C.
