A bit about Jay M

Hi there! I'm Jay, an experienced English tutor and workshop facilitator from Yorkshire. I got A*s and As at GCSE and recieved A*A*A*A* at A-Level! I can help you get those grade 8/9, A*s, and Distinction*s. I have extensive knowledge of the AQA, OCR, Edexcel and WJEC boards and curriculums, and over four years of teaching experience (inclusive of in school and online). Outside of tutoring, I am an award-winning performance poet, workshop facilitator for The Poetry Society, and freelance music journalist with lots of knowledge of the music industry (that I'm more than happy to share!). I'm very passionate about English and have a proven track record of getting struggling students to grades 7-9. Get in touch if you want those top grades! However, I like to incorporate visual learning through diagrams, videos, and quizzes to keep my students engaged. In our lessons, we will establish our learning objectives and goals together, recap on key info, look at model answers, practice exam questions, but most of all have open discussions about the topics at hand and work on critically interpreting them. There's no silly questions - if you're unsure, ask and we'll work through it together!
