A bit about Victoria L

I was born in Ukraine and moved to Spain when I was 3, which gave me the opportunity to grow up speaking two languages, Russian and Spanish. I completed all my education in Spanish schools and then took English as a university career, obtaining a first. I taught English at secondary schools in Spain and then decided to move to England and teach Spanish up to A-level in English secondary schools My main specialty is Spanish, as it is my mother tongue and I have relevant experience in teaching it to meet the GCSE and A-level requirements. I am also qualified to teach English, my main specialty being grammar. Besides, I am very passionate about languages and if needed I could also offer help with Russian, French or Italian. I have relevant experience in teaching students across the board, starting from Year 7 up to Year 13. I would also enjoy providing support in languages at a Primary School level. I have Primary and Secondary School qualifications at Spanish school, equivalent to GCSEs. In terms of higher education, I hold a BA in English with merits from the University of Malaga, and a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages from the University of Worcester, which provided me with Qualified Teacher Status. I have also completed courses in Online Teaching. What inspired me to become a teacher was helping people to try and understand specific topics, and the feeling of reward that I felt when they were able to use what I had taught them successfully. I consider myself a very patient person who is willing to find different ways of teaching the same thing to make it accessible for each of my students. My favourite thing about being a tutor is that I can adapt my teaching to fit the individual needs of each of my students based on their strengths and weaknesses, and prepare specialised material for them to use. They can also benefit from detailed feedback from a native speaker on a day-to-day basis, which is especially helpful for skills such as writing and speaking in another language.
