A bit about Jasmin M

I have always aspired to be a very creative teacher. I personally learn best by doing, which is a learning style that I try to give my students the opportunity to experience as well. I find that children of a young age remember more of the active, fun lessons and the learning within than they do with sedentary lessons. My students also like that I enjoy being in the classroom with them, sharing learning journeys, building relationships, and for them to have me as a personal cheerleader as well as a teacher. I first started tutoring two years ago when the pandemic began. I was teaching my own students via video links but many parents were contacting me for further tuition as fears came rolling in about their children falling behind! I then began tutoring via video, before signing up to an online platform and tutoring students outside of my own classroom/school as well. I love seeing the dedication that these students place on their learning and I personally love the ability to have students 1:1. It’s a great blessing to have and the students really flourish. I always wanted to work with children in some capacity and I studied a degree in psychology believing that I would become a child psychologist. However one summer I went and spent a few months volunteering in a school in Malawi in Africa and I had such an incredible time that I was inspired to continue teaching after that. I came home, finished my degree, and then I completed my PGCE before embarking on my teaching career.
