A bit about Victoria B

I am a qualified teacher who has tutored French, Spanish, German, and English for over 6 years, with a first class honours degree in Multilingual Studies with International Relations. I have experience with AQA and with teaching students with SEN on a 1:1 basis, and I love getting to know my students so that I can best adapt my teaching to their individual learning style. I love reading and am in the process of writing my own book! I specialise in helping students get ready for their exams - be they GCSEs, A-levels, or another qualification. I recently completed my PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages at UCL and my favourite subject to teach is Spanish, although I am comfortable teaching English, French, and German to a high level too. I am excellent at essay writing and helping students develop their writing skills for English exams. I teach German up to Year 8/9, French & English up to Year 11, and Spanish up to Year 13. I have most experience with AQA, but I'm more than happy to adapt my lessons to other exam boards as much of the content is transferable. In general, I'm happy to tweak my lessons to fit the needs of each of my students: everyone is different and will benefit from different approaches! My favourite thing about being a tutor is the freedom! I find that the National Curriculum can often be restrictive, repetitive, and frankly dull at times, so one of the joys of tutoring is that I am able to go off the books and plan more engaging and fun lessons. This is something I really value for my languages lessons as I know it can be difficult to motivate students in a world where almost everyone speaks English.
