A bit about Felix E

I graduated from Scientific High School in Italy. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and a Master's in Research in Translational Medicine at St. George's University of London. I have been a scholar at the New York University School of Medicine, and I'm currently a PhD student at the UK Health Security department of Toxicology. I'm a tutor at St George's Medical school, where I teach year 1 & 2 medical students, and a tutor for year 1 & 2 Pharmacy students at Kingston University of London. Students love my lessons because of my ability to explain complex concepts to make them easier to comprehend. Depending on the level of the student I'm teaching, I can adjust my language and skills to meet their requirements. I have had many students telling me to venture into teaching as I make science look very appealing. Devulgating knowledge as a scientist is my primary goal. Explaining a concept less clear to a student until they fully understand that same concept is gratifying. I'm a very patient teacher and ensure the aims and objectives have been achieved at the end of every tutorial. That is what I love most about teaching scientific subjects! I specialise in Biology - biochemistry and cell physiology, human physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, toxicology, neuroscience, neuropharmacology, maths, computer programming, chemistry, physics, Latin, and scientific writing, as I have three scientific journals published. I'm also an expert in data analysis and presentation. I first started tutoring at St. George's University medical school in 2019. I trained first-year and second-year Biomedical science students, pharmacy students and medical students. I have been also an academic tutor for 3rd-year dissertation projects at St. Georges' University of London and Kingston University of London. I like to be very organised! Firstly, I make sure I outline the learning objectives for the tutorial session and then engage students in the teaching. I prefer interactive teaching rather than lecturing what I know to the student. I ask questions intermittently to make sure the student understands the lesson and is happy with the pace of teaching. Finally, I ask for a summary of the study to ensure the student has understood the most important things. Then I give homework for the student to complete.
