A bit about Zara S

Hi, my name Is Zara :) I have experience in AS/A-level and GCSE AQA Biology in Colleges and in Sixth form. I specialise in teaching students from the age of 16+ and including adults. I have a BSc In Biomedical sciences and have also done a PGCE and QTLS. I have done full time teaching , where I have also provided 1:1 which will help me with tutoring, I am empathetic and understand my students and their struggles very well. As I have a good understanding of my students I believe all students are different and require different methods of teaching or "tutoring" in order to meet their needs I am good at talking and a very good listener which are essential skills needed to be a good tutor. I also understand the key struggle with AS/A-LEVEL and GCSE biology is exam skills in my lessons I will be providing a lot of exam question practice. FEEL FREE TO GET IN TOUCH AND BOOK A FREE INTRODUCTION :) I specialise in Biology both AS/A-levels and GCSE My lessons are very well planned out. I always start with the learning objectives and explain what will be covered in the lesson. If it's a lesson where I am continuing on from a previous lesson then for the first 10 minutes its a recap session of the previous lessson. My lessons usually consist of both active learning and passive learning as I strongly believe both are important. Most importantly my lessons are creative and consists of me teaching for a short period and then testing my students with different activities depending what the lesson is. All my lessons consists of many questions and activites. Having a good questioning technique is essential as it allows you to understand the students level of understanding of the lesson. At the end of my lesson I usually summaries the lesson , go through my objectives and then also ask questions. AQA (AS/ A-level and GCSE Biomedical Science degree PGCE and QTLS My favourite thing about being a tutor is the fact that it is more personal in comparison to just teaching to classroom to 20+ students. I believe tutoring allows the teacher to give undivided attention to an individual student it prioritises the students needs. Tutoring allows the students to open up and ask questions which they may not feel comfortable asking in class and allowing the students to revisit content.
