A bit about Ruby R

Hi there, My name is Ruby Rose and I am in my second year of Environmental and ecological sciences at the University of Edinburgh. I am originally from Switzerland, but having been living in Scotland since the start of my degree. I completed the International Baccalaureate in 2020 at an international school in Zürich. I greatly enjoy the outdoors and that is also where I feel most at home, which is why I love teaching biology. I started tutoring by helping my younger brother with his school work, and as I progressed through high school I began tutoring children from younger years in subjects like Maths, English and German. I love to see when I can inspire others to get excited about learning, because it truly is a beautiful thing! As I tutor three different subject at various levels, the lessons vary greatly depending on the student. However, what does not change is that they are all always structured around a goal for the lesson. This makes it clear for both what we are working towards together and what we want to achieve in our time. My first experience with helping others understand school work better was with my younger brother. From there on I began tutoring younger children in Maths and English while I was still in High School. When I began my journey at University, I started online tutoring and have since completed 90 hours of online lessons. I also have experience in group tutoring and students with dyslexia and ADHD. My focus lies within the subjects of Biology, English and German. For all of these subjects I have been supporting pupils at various levels and ages! I have the most experience in IB subjects, as I myself completed this program, however have since expanded my horizons to Ks2, Ks3 and GCSE.
