Whilst the South suffered post-emancipation and during the civil war due to their slave-based economy, the north thrived. Textile work, railroad development and mass infrastructure blossomed.

The Civil War had a big economic impact on the North. It increased the demand for weapons, supplies, and transportation, which led to more factories being built and more goods being produced. Railroads expanded rapidly, helping to move troops and products more efficiently. The war also opened job opportunities, especially for women. Overall, this growth helped set the stage for the North’s future economic strength after the war. Hope this helps!

The norths success in the Civil War led to a huge boost in its economy, which led to industrial growth as well as the development of financial institutions.
