2/3 as a decimal is 0.666666667, 3/4 as a decimal is 0.75

Therefore the sum would be:

0.666666667 - 0.75 = 0.83333333

Make sure they have a common denominator, for this example: 3 and 4 both fit into 12. Now you multiply the numerator by the amount the number below goes into the common denominator. So 3 goes into 12; 4 times. While 4 goes into 12; 3 times.

Therefore we do 2x4=8 and 3x3=9

The two fractions are now 8/12 and 9/12.

Now you can add both together and you get 17/12

To subtract 3/4 - 2/3 we will have to take LCM of the denominator to to make them equal i.e. Least Common Multiple where we multiply the denominator and numerator with 4 for the 1st fraction and with 3 for the 2nd fraction.

By doing this we will observe that the denominators will become equal and makes it easy for us to subtract the numerators now, so it becomes 9/12 - 8/12 = 1/12. Thus the answer is 1/12.
