The premise of marriage from a religious perspective is still very important. It is believed this is the ideal place to have a sexual relationship and begin a family as it offers stability for the children. It furthermore, pleases God shown within the wedding vows. However, a more liberal religious view is that as long as you are in a loving relationship then cohabitation is acceptable, committing yourself to one person.
