What is the endocrine system?

The endocrine system is a network of endocrine glands that produce and release hormones. This system basically controls when hormones enter the blood and are then able to carry out bodily functions. Just to make sure you know what hormones are : they are chemical messengers that move through the blood and act on target cells!
