Any method of trying to trick someone into giving away personal information or sensitive data.

Phishing - hundreds of emails being sent out in one go pretending to be from a reputable organisation. Usually includes a link to a fake website where they enter their details.

Shouldering - looking over someone's shoulder physically or recording with a device whilst they enter personal data onto a device.

Blagging - messaging someone to build a relationship of trust and then asking for money or personal details. Usually paying money to try and get someone out of a made up situation.

Pharming - changing a web browsers local settings so that a fake website opens when it looks like you're accessing a genuine website. Information collected as data is entered. Cross between phishing and farming.
