An SQL injection attack is when SQL code is entered into a user interaction box (usually a username or password) to interact with the database storing the websites user accounts. SQL injection can reveal passwords and other sensitive data being stored in a database and allow the attacker to change data stored (aka changing their password). SQL attacks are largely obsolete now due to input sanitisation not allowing any code to be submitted via a website input box.

An SQL Injection is a malicious input that is designed to extend the SQL query to gain more information about the tables and data inside of a database.
SQL injection is a type of cyber attack where someone tries to manipulate a website’s database by inserting harmful code into a form or URL. This happens when the website doesn’t properly check user input. Attackers can steal, change, or delete data from the database by doing this.
