What is the definition of a function?

A function is a form of algebraic equation with a range of input and output values that can be drawn on an axis diagram. A function will also express an output in terms of an expression of an input showing the relationship between an output and input.

Their are different type of functions and they visually create different type of lines being linear or non- linear on an axis diagram.
