LCM is lowest common multiple. The lowest common multiple is the smallest whole number which is a multiple of both
For example the multiples of 6 are: 6,12.18.24.30. 36 42 ..........
The multiples of 5 are 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40...........
30 is the lowest number in both so 30 is the LCM

LCM means Least Common multiple or factor. It is also the multiple of any two or more given integers. For example: LCM of 16 and 20 will be 2 X 2 X 2 X 2 X 5 = 80. Where 80 is the smallest common multiple for numbers 16 and 20.

Lowest Common Multiple! An LCM between two numbers is the smallest number that is a multiple of both. For example, between 6 and 7, the LCM would be 42, as this is the smallest number that is a multiple of both!

For Example, what is LCM of 3 and 5?
The multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, ...
The multiples of 5 are 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, ...
Find the first Common (same) value which is 15
So the Least Common Multiple of 3 and 5 is 15
LCM stands for lowest common multiple. LCM is a number which can be divisible by a set of numbers. For example, 12 is the LCM of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12. This means 12 can be divided exactly by 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 itself.
Least common multiples..
example- LCM of two numbers is divisible by both numbers. For example, the LCM of 6 and 8 is 24. Hence 24 is divisible by both 6 and 8.
LCM is the lowest common multiple of a variety of numbers. For example, the LCM (lowest common multiple) of 3 and 12 is 12.
LCM is the Lowest Common Multiple of 2 numbers. That means the lowest number that appears in both their times tables.
Some examples - what's the LCM of 2 and 3? Well, 6 is in BOTH the 2x table (2x3) and 3x table. (3x2)
Whats the LCM of 8 and 12? 24 is in both the 8x table (8x3) and the 12x table (12x2).
I'd work it out by writing down the 1st 5 numbers in both times tables (that's usually enough) and circling the numbers they both share. The lowest of the numbers you circle = the LCM.

LCM stands for Lowest Common Multiple. This consists of finding a common number multiplied a certain times for two numbers.

Let's say you have two numbers (n1,n2) and you want to find out what is the lowest number (LCM) which is multiple of both of our numbers (n1,n2). This smallest number is called LCM of our numbers (n1,n2).
For e.g.,
Suppose our two numbers are 10 and 15.
Method to get LCM:
Step 1: Get prime factors of your numbers.
Factors of 10 are : 2,5
Factors of 15 are: 3,5
Step 2: Multiply all the prime factors. (NOTE: Do not repeat any prime factor if it has already been considered).
LCM= 2*3*5 (NOTE: 5 was only considered once and not repeated twice)
=30
LCM is the lowest common multiple of two or more numbers. You find it by going through the multiplication table (times table) of each number. The first number that appears on the times table of each number is the LCM.
For example, the LCM of 6 and 8 is 24
Here is how I worked it out
6 x 1 = 6
6x 2 = 12
6x 3 = 18
6 x 4 = 24
6 x 5 = 30
8 x 1 = 8
8 x 2 = 16
8 x 3 = 24
LCM means LOWEST or LEAST COMMON MULTIPLE the smallest multiple that 2 or more numbers have in common. EG
intergers (numbers) 2 and 3
multiples of 2 are 2, 4,6 8,10, 12, 14, 16,18
multiples of 3 are 3.6.9.12.15.18
6, 12, 18 are common (the same) in the multiples of 2 and 3
6 is the smallest /least multiple
The abbreviation LCM stands for 'Least Common Multiple'. The least common multiple (LCM) of two numbers is the lowest possible number that can be divisible by both numbers. It can be calculated for two or more numbers as well. There are different methods to find the LCM of a given set of numbers. One of the quickest ways to find the LCM of two numbers is to use the prime factorization of each number and then the product of the highest powers of the common prime factors will be the LCM of those numbers.
