Is access to Alaska difficult or easy?

Compared to large parts of the USA, access to Alaska is very difficult. Roughly only 20% of the state is accessible by road and there are few highways. Additionally, poor weather conditions in the winter months further hampers access to the state and between urban areas within the state.
