Hi Jammie, Quartiles divide the data into quarters. For example, the lower quartile is the middle number that falls between the data's smallest value and middle value (the median) where as the upper quartile is the middle number between the median and the highest value

The next quartile contains the next highest 25% values. The other two quarters follow the same pattern. Essentially, quartiles truncate your dataset into groups of highest to lowest values grouped together. These are helpful in histogram generation and analysing your data.

Quartiles divide ordered data from smallest to largest using 3 data points (25%, 50% and 75%). With these data points we create four datasets (Q1,Q2,Q3 and Q4), which will respectively be: values between 0%-25%, values between 25%-50%, values between 50-75% and values above 75%.
