BODMAS stands for Brackets, Order, Division, Multiplication, and Subtraction and tells you the order that operations should be performed in.


For instance in 2 x 5 + 3 - 6


Multiplication should be done first 2 x 5 = 10


10 + 3 - 6


Addition should be done next 10 + 3 = 13


13 - 6


Subtraction should be done last


so the answer is 7!

Typically in schools it is now taught as BIDMAS. Same principle, just swapping the O for I (Indices)
