LCM is the least common multiple. In the case of two numbers, the least common multiple is the smallest number that is a multiple of both numbers.

LCM stands for Least Common Multiple. It is the smallest number that two or more numbers can divide into.

Example:

LCM of 4 and 6 is 12, because 12 is the smallest number both 4 and 6 go into.

LCM or lowest common multiplier is the lowest number that 2 numbers can both go into without a remainder. An example would be the lowest common multiple of 4 and 6.

The 4 times tables are: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, ...

The 6 times tables are: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, ...

The lowest common multiple is 12 as that is the lowest number that they both go into. 24 is also a multiple of both 4 and 6, but it is not the lowest common multiple as 12 is lower.

LCM stands for Lowest Common Multiple and refers the lowest number that can be divided by two other numbers. For example:

What is the LCM of 3 and 4?

Multiples of 3: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27,...

Multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44,...

Through observation both 12 and 24 are multiples of 3 and 4.

Multiples of 3: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27,...

Multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36,...

Since 12 is the lowest value, 12 is the LCM of 3 and 4.

What is the LCM of 270 and 252

If you have covered finding the product of prime factors you may use this method to find the LCM of two numbers.

270=2x3x3x3x5

252=2x2x3x3x7

The LCM is the product of the lowest values shared between the product of prime factors.

270=2x3x3x3x5

252=2x2x3x3x7

So LCM=2x3x3

LCM=18

LCM is a method where you have two or more numbers, and you fild the smallest number that can be multiplied into all of the numbers.

For example ; Q: Find the LCM of 20 and 25

So here, we could first try 2 as the LCM, however because 25 is odd we know that no even number can be a multiple.

Therefore the smallest number that can go into both 20 and 25 is 5.

5x4 = 20

5x5 = 25

Least/Lowest Common Multiple. The smallest positive integer that is divisible by both A and B. For example - if it was for 4 and 6, the LCM would be 2.

The LCM is the lowest common multiple.

The quickest and easiest way to find the LCM is to start with the higher or the highest of the numbers and multiply by 1.

Keep going up by increments of 1 until you find a multiple that both numbers will go into. That's your answer!

Eg. highest LCM of 3 and 7

Select highest (or in this case higher number) which is 7 and run through the multiples starting at 1.

7 x 1 = 7. Does 3 go into 7? No. Next step

7 x 2 = 14. Does 3 go into 14? No. Next step.

7 x 3 =21. Does 3 into 21? Yes

21 is the LCM of 3 and 7.

LCM stands for Least Common Multiple. The lowest common multiple numbers from 2 or more numbers. For example, LCM of 4 and 5 is

The multiples of 4 are 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 ....

The multiples of 5 are 5, 10, 15, 20, 25....

here in both cases, the common number is 20. So. The LCM of 4 and 5 is 20, which is the least common in both 4 and 5.

LCM denotes the least common factor or multiple of any two or more given integers. For example, L.C.M of 16 and 20 will be 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 = 80, where 80 is the smallest common multiple for numbers 16 and 20
