All 6 cards in this deck

What are the symptoms of measles?

Fever and a red skin rash.

How is the measles virus spread, and how is the disease controlled?

By inhalation of droplets from sneezes and coughs; most young children are vaccinated against it.

How is HIV spread?

By sexual contact, or by exchange of body fluids such as blood when drug users share needles.

What is late stage HIV infection (AIDS)?

When the immune system is so badly damaged it can no longer deal with other infections or cancers.

True or false? HIV attacks the body's immune cells as soon as a person is infected.

A distinctive 'mosaic' pattern of discolouration on the leaves, which reduces photosynthesis.
