All 6 cards in this deck

What is a formulation?

A mixture that has been designed as a useful product, in which each chemical has a particular purpose.

Why are the components of a formulation mixed in carefully measured quantities?

To ensure the product has the required properties.

Give four examples of formulations.

Any four of: fuels, cleaning agents, paints, medicines, alloys, fertilisers, foods.

Why does a manufacturer always use the same proportions of yellow dye and blue dye in a green ink?

So that the shade of green is always the same — the ink is a formulation.
