First what you would need to do is make 5 a fraction. We do this simply by placing a 1 on the denominator, since 5 divided by 1 is just 5.

Now we have:

5/1 x 1/4

When multiplying fractions, all you need to do is multiply your numerators and multiply your denominators separately.

So for the numerator, you would do 5 x 1 = 5

And for the denominator, you would do 1 x 4 = 4.

Therefore, 5 x 1/4 = 5/4, aka five quarters.

5 x 1/4 =

5/1 x 1/4 =

5 x 1 = 5

1 x 4 = 4

therefore

= 5/4 or 1 1/4

1/4 can be equally expressed as 0.25.

5x0.25 equals 1.25

5*1/4

You can convert 5 to (5/1). Thus you will have (5/1)*(1/4). Multiply the numerators and denominators to derive (5*1)/(1*4)=5/4. This can further be written as 1.25.

So you would need to times 5( which is the same as 5/1) with the fraction 1/4, to multiply fractions, you need to multiply both numerators and denominators. So that would be, (5*1)/(1*4) which is 5/4 or in mixed fractions, a whole and a quarter.

5 whole converted to a fraction is 5/1, we proceed by multiplying numerators together and denominators together, the answer is 5/4

firstly, convert the 5 into a fraction and place it over 1(so now it will be 5/1). Then, times the numerators by each other (5x1) (4x1). The answer is 5/4.

When multiplying a fraction by an integer, we can re-write the integer as a fraction over 1. So, 5 multiplied by 1/4 becomes: 5/1 x 1/4. Now we multiply the numerator of both fractions together and the denominators of both fractions together. This becomes: (5 x 1) / (1 x 4) = 5/4
