5*1/4

You can convert 5 to (5/1). Thus you will have (5/1)*(1/4). Multiply the numerators and denominators to derive (5*1)/(1*4)=5/4. This can further be written as 1.25.

So you would need to times 5( which is the same as 5/1) with the fraction 1/4, to multiply fractions, you need to multiply both numerators and denominators. So that would be, (5*1)/(1*4) which is 5/4 or in mixed fractions, a whole and a quarter.

firstly, convert the 5 into a fraction and place it over 1(so now it will be 5/1). Then, times the numerators by each other (5x1) (4x1). The answer is 5/4.

When multiplying a fraction by an integer, we can re-write the integer as a fraction over 1. So, 5 multiplied by 1/4 becomes: 5/1 x 1/4. Now we multiply the numerator of both fractions together and the denominators of both fractions together. This becomes: (5 x 1) / (1 x 4) = 5/4

5 times 1/4 can be answered in 2 ways. If we are considering 1/4 as a fraction only then we multiply by 5 and then divide by 4 to get 5/4. If we consider 1/4 as 0.25 then we have 5 times 0.25 which gives us 1.25 which is equivalent to 5/4.
