Analyse Questions Flashcards
All 5 cards in this deck
What does an 'analyse' question require?
A developed chain of connected consequences applied to the named business.
What are the steps to build a chain of analysis?
e.g. 'Analyse the impact on a housebuilder of a fall in interest rates' (6 marks)
- State the cause: borrowing becomes cheaper.
- Link the first consequence: so more customers can afford mortgages.
- Link to the effect on that business: so the housebuilder sells more homes and revenue rises.
True or false? An analyse answer must end with a recommendation.
False. No judgement is needed — that is what evaluate questions ask for.
Why does listing several points score badly on an analyse question?
Marks come from depth of the chain, so one fully developed point beats several undeveloped ones.
True or false? One analyse answer may draw on knowledge from more than one part of the course.
True. Linking areas such as finance, marketing and operations strengthens the chain.
